Pottermore where to get more fluxweed

Before starting anything, take a look at your Potion book. Notice that each potion has 3 key ingredients. Then, take a look at your ingredient inventory here and look at how the key ingredients look like. Be familiar with them so that when you brew the potion, you know exactly what is on your table. Potions may be the only activity you can keep on playing on Pottermore, but do pay attention to your expenditure!

I would like to thank my readers and Pottermore fans who commented and contributed very useful information: Dwight, Patrick, Blah Master, and Minerva. Great post! I find the best potion to brew is the Wideye potion personally, but helpful post nonetheless!

Add me, ChaserWing18! What does the wolfsbane look like in the wideye potion? Is the bone-like thing wolfsbane? Wolfsbane looks like a bunch of purple flowers.

It only appears in the second phase after waiting for 95 minutes. It is the bone like thing. If you look on the left side of your potion book there is a pic of each ingredient.

I prefer Sleeping Draught myself it yields a hig score and when u know all the steps its not that hard to make. I agree. And it is easier to do the more you do it. When I first started making it, it seemed like all I was doing was failing.

You just have to keep brewing, despite your failures. Yes, I agree with Sarah; I think the Wideye is the easiest for the amount of points you get. Or maybe the Forgetfulness Potion. And I love your blog in general. I love the amount of details you go into…you write so beautifully. Can you add the option to your blog where we subscribe via e-mail? That way, whenever you put up a new post it notifies us in our emails??

Wish I read it before buying the 25g gallions. Hi Dejiki, thanks for collating all the information on Potions! Some of these are really useful. I got very frustrated when the ingredients kept falling into the cauldron as I passed them over to the mortar! Glad the tips were helpful! I think they have changed the points system. I just brewed a Forgetfulness Potion successfully, and it awarded me 9 house points.

A revisit on the house points at least might be in order. Thanks for the heads up, I have made a new section about points in this entry. How can I brew potions again? This is one of the infamous potions glitch. It says. What happens when you click the message?

Does it bring you to the Potions game screen? It brings me back to Cauldrons page, but nothing changes. If you are stuck in Phase 1, I suggest that you make a minor mistake with your brew and get 1 house point for effort so that the game would purge that potion session out of the game. It happened to me too today I tried to brew Wideye, waited for 95 minutes and when I get back, it showed me the steps of Phase 1!!! So frustrating! I just wasted many precious galleons!!!

I have a question with regards to waiting for the potions to brew till the second page. Does that mean I have to have that window open for 80 minutes?

You do not have to. The active cauldron will be shown and there is even a progress bar to inform you about its status. Sorry another question. What happens if you put down bottles sideways when you finish using them… wherein they keep spilling on the table?

I used to have the problem with it not taking me to the second phase. I have a slow computer. On slow computers, heating up your material actually behaves differently than on a fast one. With a pewter cauldron, I need to alternate on the red and orange buttons to keep the temperature in range, instead of alternating on the orange and blue.

The temperature only goes up on red, and drops semi-briskly on orange. You do keep the ingredients but you have to wait for the potion to brew again. In that case, I would never recommend a Copper cauldron to users with slow computers. Thanks for pointing that out. You can click on this link too. Awesome stuff! When I was making the Wideye Potion, I spilled some dried billywig stings when I laid it back down on the table.

The cauldron exploded after I waved my wand. Did the spill affect my brewing? The game does leave a message stating what went wrong — do you still remember what it said?

Hi Dejiki, Thank you very much for this blog. When I click on the button below the cauldron, the site brings me back to making the same potion, as if nothing happened. The second time I followed your instructions and let it brew on a separate window, too. It did remove ingredients from my account, though, for both potions. Unfortunately this is not a problem with your browser, but with the Pottermore server. I would suggest waiting for Pottermore to go into maintenance mode — usually that would clear and reset all Potion sessions in most situations.

Hi Dejiki, Thank you for your very fast :-! More patience, and more frowning when I try again, and again, and again.. I tested this out on purpose. Odd things happen: pestle stops working, cannot grab ingredients, etc.

Add me! I have been making the forgetfulness potion, but when I went back to it after letting it brew it came up with the support message- will this effect my potion in any way?

The other says that Pottermore is unavailable due to maintenance. If you see the first message, your potion will not be affected but do note that the brew-time countdiown is still running!

It means that you have to wait for your potion to brew — while waiting you can explore other parts of Pottermore or just anything else. Just take note of the time and come back when the time is up. I always seem to mess up when i wave my wand. Make sure you click on the wand only when all the instructions in the Potions book have been crosssed out.

The problem is, I am. How do I keep the temperature within the right range while my wand is waving?? But, it seems the Wideye needs to be kept that temperature the whole time. I just tried to brew it and even with the temperature within the right range AFTER the wand-waving by turning off the fire when the temperature is at the highest acceptable point, then quickly on the wand , it still fails. But I get a message saying that I did not maintain the temperature properly this happened with the Wideye Potion.

There is a bug with the Wideye Potion, making it impossible to be brewed at this stage. Thank you SO much for posting this. Without it, I would not have ever found Bat Spleens. I was wondering if you could do a similar page for books. Safari, firefox and Chrome??? What about IE9 and Opera? Mac user? How do I move on to making new potions? Thanks, Hannah. For the first part you will require: -Fluxweed: found Behind the willow root in Book 2, Chapter 5, Moment 2. You can also buy a bundle of 5 at the apothecary for 5 galleons -Lacewing Flies: Can be found on the floor to the right of the toilet in Book 2, Chapter 12, Moment 2.

You can buy it at the apothecary, 2 galleons for 6 flies -Leeches: Can be found on the bathroom floor in front of the third door from the left in Book 2, Chapter 9, Moment 2. Bought at the apothecary if needed, 8 leeches for 6 galleons. And when the temperature is about to reach the top of that zone, I switch the flame off, which will make the temperature decrease. Keep doing this until the required time is reached!

You got to be quick and attentive though! Works with all potions! MEGALODONprBest I can figure the only place you can go wrong is at bcsauee he turns the page around to put the tape on and sticks the tape in the middle from the end piece of the flap you cut and wrap around to the panel beside it.

You have to brew the swelling solution first before you can access the Private Stores. How do you collect slytherin student hair? And where can you find horn of bicorn and skin of boomslang? When you get into the Slytherin common room, by clicking on the brick wall provided you have brewed your polyjuice potion , there is a wizard chess set on a table. In the drawer is a chocolate frog card.

Ok, Fluxweed is under the Whomping Willow in chapter 5, the rest is in Snapes office, same chapter, zoom in all the way and find then on a shelf in the back.

Good Luck! Where do you find the morte book? Any help will be appreciated, thank you. If you click on the note then you can collect Moste Potente Potions.

Nothing else, I think. Once you get into the Slytherin common room, there is a read about there. I can no longer suggest doing this — it has been patched recently and using the back button will deplete ingredients in your inventory.

I have lost quite a few brews because of some technical issues, probably because my Pottermore login cookie expired BUT the Potions game does not know and still allows me to continue.

The game might glitch up and reset your potion back to the first phase, or worse, you might be stuck in serious glitch where Pottermore still thinks that you have a potion brewing! So I recommend the following:. I would say Cure for Boils , if you want to keep things simple and gain house points easily. It has very few steps and does not involve precise control over the cauldron temperature.

Also, it takes only 80 minutes to brew to the second phase. It will cost 4 Galleons to get enough ingredients 36 brews, using complimentary Horned Slugs found in Chapter It is still the cheapest potion to brew, but the other potions, such as the Sleeping Draught might be better if you want to gain house points quickly. The wand is located at the bottom-right corner of the table, below the Potion recipe book. It is sometimes obscured by ingredients.

Before starting anything, take a look at your Potion book. Notice that each potion has 3 key ingredients.

Then, take a look at your ingredient inventory here and look at how the key ingredients look like. Be familiar with them so that when you brew the potion, you know exactly what is on your table. Rowling, retrieved from Pottermore. Rowling certainly does not want the Harry Potter popularity to wane — even after the extraordinary success of the film series and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Her latest project, Pottermore , is an online experience developed with Sony. The website was described as an extension to the 7-book series, providing not just new supplementary reading materials, but also an almost immersive world for fans to role-play in.

From 15 August , Pottermore has rolled out invitations to a small amount of users. After about 13 days, the number of players are just above 78, Pottermore is expected to be open to all in October I was not exactly optimistic about getting early access as I usually have poor luck for lucky draws. Due to sheer dumb luck as Professor McGonagall might say , I received a welcoming letter from the website stating that I can explore Pottermore.

In Pottermore, each book is divided up into chapters, and key Moments in those chapters are highlighted as explorable scenes. Most scenes are animated artwork that has exactly three layers of depth. Users can shift between each depth layer either by double clicking or using arrow keys on the keyboard.

You can hover over most parts of the artwork and things will start animating. I am not going to post any more screenshots to keep most of the website a surprise for all. Most of the artwork are faithful to the books and there are a lot of detailed animation happening in each scene.

You have to explore the chapters sequentially, no skipping to the end! You might notice a column of icons on the left. Some clickable objects will unlock new material written by Rowling for Pottermore, marked with a red quill icon. While the story experience takes place in the same point of view as the books, each Pottermore user could start their own stories by participating in the roleplaying portion of the website.

That is, to be like a student at Hogwarts. First you need to set up your Gringotts account. Sorry, no fancy ride here.

Allowance for all users is Galleons, to last until the release of the next book in Pottermore. Time to go shopping!
